The ship arrived in Budapest this morning, and it was time to disembark. Lisa’s flight was a bit later in the morning, so she was on a later transfer from Ama. I had a private transfer pick me up at 9:30 am and take me to the Kempinski Corvinus Budapest, the hotel the group would be staying at for three nights. My room wasn’t ready yet, so I went into the Business Center to take a Zoom meeting at 10 am with our Riviera ship’s cruise director, Cassie, and our concierge, Patricia. They filled me in on the details for our excursions and the schedule for each day of the cruise, and confirmed our arrival and departure plans.
After the meeting, I put my laptop in the hotel safe and took a Bolt (like Uber) to the airport to meet my sister Cindy, whose flight was scheduled to arrive at 10:35 am. She thought she had a private transfer, so when she came out and saw me waiting, she was very surprised. I ordered another Bolt back to the hotel, and when we got there, we found out our room still wasn’t ready. We sat in the lobby, where Cindy fell asleep while I did some work. It had been a long travel day for her.
A few people from our group arrived at various times, and we saw them in the lobby while they were waiting for their rooms as well.

Later in the afternoon, our room was ready at 3 pm, so we went upstairs. I had booked a room for three people for all three nights, even though my daughter Alyx would only be with us for the last night, so that we wouldn’t have to move rooms. It was the same price as a double anyway, so it was much easier. The room had a king bed and a rollaway, and Cindy immediately claimed the rollaway and went right to sleep.
I woke her around dinner time, but she was still really tired. We ordered room service, and after Cindy ate, she dozed off again.
