Happy Thanksgiving! No turkey for us this year- the ship is owned by a British company, so there was no holiday dinner on the menu.

I had arranged for two vans to take us from the hotel to the ship. They arrived at 10:30am and took us and our bags. At the pier, the crew took the luggage for us, but we were not yet allowed to get onboard because they were still getting everything ready. We had free time until 3pm, the earliest time we could board. Most of us walked over to the Central Market Hall for lunch and a little shopping. There was also an Aldi store in the basement, so Cindy was very excited! She bought a couple of cucumbers, some soda, and a jar of olives.
We went back to the ship around 3:30pm and boarded, then were taken to our rooms. Since this is a solo cruise, we all had our own cabins. I told Cindy and Alyx they were welcome to share my room with me, but in the end we all decided that having our own space was pretty nice.
We were in time for tea; they had nine different kinds of desserts and three varieties of large sandwiches. We relaxed until dinner and then went down to the dining room.
We sat down at a table and the maître d’ came over. Sister Cindy looked at him and asked if he had worked on Royal Caribbean before. He said he had, and they realized they recognized each other. What a small world.
